RESOLUTION NO. 90-208
A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A MODIFICATION TO THE GOLDEN VALLEY
AREA PLAN, SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSING ACCESS, WITH CROSSOVER, AT
HIGHWAY 68, VIA SANTA MARIA ROAD
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board

conducted to determine whether approval should be granted to
modify the Golden Valley Area Plan to allow Santa Maria Road to
enter and cross Highway 68, and
WHEREAS, Section 8 is located approximately five (5) miles
west of the Highway 68/93 junction. Highway 68 passes thru this
section in an east-west direction. The proposed Santa Maria Road
for this section is currently proposed to be access from Highway
68 off of Verde Road, then along the highway frontage road, and
WHEREAS, Resolution P&ZC: 88-147 amended the Golden Valley
Area Plan and designated a portion of Section 8 to be set aside
for use as an elementary school.
The elementary school is
fronted by Santa Maria Road and the applicant wishes to establish
direct access to Highway 68 via Santa Maria Road, rather than
access Highway 68 via the frontage road and Verde Road. The
applicant also wishes to cut access from Chino Road to Santa
Maria Road to prevent excess traffic running through the school
