A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH APPROVAL OF A ZONING USE PERMIT TO
ESTABLISH A KENNEL IN AN A-R (AGRICULTURAL RESIDENTIAL) ZONE IN
THE E~ OF THE NORTHERLY SEVEN HUNDRED SEVENTY ( 770 ') FEET OF
PARCEL 302, SECTION 30, TOWNSHIP 21 NORTH, RANGE 18 WEST, LOCATED
IN THE GOLDEN VALLEY AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board
of Supervisors held October 1, 1990 a public hearing was
conducted to determine whether approval should be granted to
William B. and Mary Shuell, Phoenix, Arizona for a zoning Use
Permit to establish a kennel in an A-R (Agricultural Residential)
zone, and
WHEREAS, Section 30 is located approximately six (6) miles
west of the Highway 68/93 junction and approximately two and one-
half (2.5) miles south of Highway 68. Parcel 302 has frontage on
the west side of Colorado Road and is bounded on the north by
Dubin Drive. The subject property occupies the northeast quarter
of Parcel 302, and
WHEREAS, review of floodplain map #040058-2325B indicates
this area is clear of flooding potential, and

WHEREAS, surrounding land uses consist of mostly vacant
land.
The applicant wishes to establish a dog kennel for
boarding and raising greyhounds in conjunction with a home on
this ten (10) acre parcel, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the Mohave County Planning
and Zoning Commission on September 12, 1990 did generate a
recommendation of approval of the Zoning Use Permit with the
following conditions:
1.
This Zoning Use Permit is subject to revocation upon
sixty (60) days notification by the Board of
Supervisors, if in the opinion of the Commission and
Board, the continued use of the property would be
contrary to the public health, safety, and welfare.
2.
The applicant shall comply with all applicable
provisions of Sections 25, 26, 27, and 31 of the Mohave
County Zoning Ordinances.
3. This establishment shall not be used for public use,
such as the boarding of pets.
4. Arizona Department of Environmental Quality shall
approve the quality and quantity of water supply.
5. Kennel Pads shall be paved concrete with adequate
drainage.
6. The Mohave County Department Environmental Health
approves the septic system for the kennel.
7. Adequate security shall be provided in accordance with
Section 27M, Mohave County Zoning Regulations.
8. The area shall be maintained in a sanitary state so as
to not cause the breeding of insect larvae.
9. Excessive uncontrolled barking shall be just cause to
have the Planning and Zoning Commission rehear this
case to determine if the ZUP should be revoked.

WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Mohave
Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman,
Mohave County, Arizona on August 24, 1990, and posted August 29,
1990 as required by the Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave
County Zoning Regulations, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors,
at their regular meeting on Monday, October 1, 1990 approved this
Zoning Use Permit as recommended by the Mohave County Planning
and Zoning Commission, subject to the conditions outlined herein.
