Resolution No. 91-288
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission at their meeting
on October 9, 1991 did recommend
APPROVAL of the name SCENIC,
based on the following:
A public meeting was held on August 1, 1991 at the Mesquite
City Council Chambers. Thirteen (13) property owners were
in attendance. After several questions were asked by staff
and some lengthy discussion, six (6) names were chosen to
forward to the Board of Geographic and Historic Names,
Bureau of Land Management and the Arizona State Land
Department for their evaluation. Their main concern is the
prevention of a duplication of a place name. Out of the six
names chosen by the public, Commission staff eliminated
Windy Acres because it was determined to be a commercial
name. Therefore, the following place names were sent to the
aforementioned agencies:
1) Elbow Canyon
2) Scenic
