RESOLUTION NO. 91-317
A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE URBAN OVERLAY ZONE TO INCLUDE SECTION
31 , TOWNSHI P 21 NORTH, RANGE 17 WEST, LOCATED IN 'l'HE GOLDEN
VALLEY AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board
of Supervisors held on December 2, 1991, a public hearing was
conducted to extend the Urban Overlay Zone to include Section 31,
Township 21 North, Range 17 West, being east of Tooman Road and
north of Shinarump Drive, in the Golden Valley area, and
WHEREAS, Section 31 is located approximately one-half (.5)
mile west of the junction of Highway 68 and 93 and is four and
one-half (4.5) miles south of Highway 68. Section 31 is bounded
on the west by Tooman Road and on the south by Shinarump Road,
and
WHEREAS, review of floodplain map #040058-2325B indicates
this area to be clear of a designated floodplain. The section is
currently occupied. Review of current land use maps indicate the
majority of homes in this section are in the southwest quarter.
Surrounding land uses consist of mostly vacant land and some
residences. The sections to the north and east are Public lands

and are part of the proposed regional park to be established by
City of Kingman and Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and
WHEREAS, the citizen making this request desires to extend
the urban overlay/building code area to include this section.
The sections to the west and the section to the south are
currently in the urban overlay/building code area, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission at their meeting
on November 31, 1991 did recommend APPROVAL of the request for an
extension of the urban overlay zone based on the following
justifications:
I. This section is the only fee title land in the vicinity
that is not in the overlay zone.
2. This section is within the Golden Valley Improvement
District #2.
3. Commission Staff has received no comments to indicate
the residents of this section are in opposition to this
request.
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman
Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman,
Mohave County, Arizona on November 17, 1991, and posted November
15, 1991 as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and Mohave
County Zoning Regulations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors,
at their regular meeting on Monday, December 2, 1991, approved
this extension of the Urban Overlay Zone as recommended by the
Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein,
MORAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
