A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE STREET NAME CHANGE IN SECTIONS 6 &
7, TOWNSHIP 22 NORTH, RANGE 16 WEST; SECTIONS 30 & 31, 'l'OWNSHIP
23 NORTH, RANGE 16 WEST, FROM: ~U~A~ROAD, PROPOSED TO BE:
NORTH BANK STREET TO CONFORM WITH THE AREA PLAN FOR THE NORTH
KINGMAN AREA NORTH OF JAGERSON AVENUE. (MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING
REGULATION SECTION 32-D.10.a.3)
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board
of Supervisors held on March 9, 1992, a public hearing was
conducted to determine whether approval should be granted for a
street name change in Sections 6 & 7, Township 22 North, Range 16
West; Sections 30 & 31, Township 23 North, Range 16 West, From:
HUALAPAI ROAD, Proposed To Be: NORTH BANK STREET to conform with
the area plan for the North Kingman area north of Jagerson
Avenue.
(Mohave County Zoning Regulation Section 32-D.I0.a.3),
and
WHEREAS,
Hualapai
Road
is
located
north
of
the
Kingman/Butler area and runs in a north-south direction. The
southernmost point is 2.5 miles north of Jagerson Avenue and the
northernmost point is 12 miles north of Jagerson Avenue.
North
Bank Street currently ends at Jagerson Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the North Kingman Area Plan provided for growth
north of Jagerson Avenue and also the potential of North Bank
Street connecting with Hualapai Road, and

WHEREAS, the Kingman area also has other roads names that
are similar to Hualapai Road.
Specifically Hualapai Mountain
Road, Wallapai Lane and Wallapai Road, and
WHEREAS,
Section 32
of the Mohave County Regulations
indicates
duplication
of
road
names
is
to
be
avoided.
Duplications
are
indicated
to
be
similar
spellings,
pronunciations or meanings.
The primary reason to avoid
duplication is to prevent problems with implementation of the
Emergency 911 program, and
WHEREASE, confusion as to which road is being referred to
could cause delays in emergency service response.
Therefore it
is recommended to change the name of the current Hualapai Road.
The logical name would be North Bank Street, and
WHEREAS, Hualapai Road is currently located in the following
sections:
Sections 5, 6 & 7, Township 22 North, Range 16 West;
Sections 5, 7, 17, 18, 29, 30 & 31, Township 23 North, Range 16
West; Sections 17, 19 & 29, Township 24 North, Range 16 West, and
WHEREASE, there are a small number of occupied homes and
properties on Hualapai Road. The name of North Bank Street could
extend along its current alignment as far north as Antares Road,
but, would end at the southern boundary of Township 25 North
Range 16 West, and

WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County
Planning and Zoning Commission on February 12,
19921
the
Commission recommended conditional APPROVAL of the requested
street name change with the following conditions:
1. This change take place for the existing Hualapai Road
in the following locations. Sections 5, 6 & 7,
Township 22 North, Range 16 West; Sections 5, 7, 17,
18, 29, 30 & 31, Township 23 North, Range 16 West;
Sections 17, 19 & 29, Township 24 North, Range 16 West.
2. That future roads having the same alignment also bear
the name of North Bank Street.
3. Compliance with specifications as set forth in Section
32 of the Mohave County regulations or its successor.
4. The approval of this request does not indicate
assumption by the County for road maintenance without
separate approval by the Board of Supervisors, and
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman
Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman,
Mohave County, Arizona, on February 23, 1992, and posted February
21, 1992 as required by Arizona Revised Statutes, and the Mohave
County Zoning Regulations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors,
at their regular meeting on Monday, March 9, 1992 approved this
change in zoning as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and
Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
