PAGE 1 OF~ 2' ~Q~AVE.~OU~IY BOA~O OF SUPERVISORS IH:.':..ORD1:~(j I-cE 0.00 liC MICROAlMED RESOLUTION NO. 93-308 A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A STREET NAME CHANGE STARTING AT THE SW CORNER OF SECTION 11, TOWNSHIP 17 NORTH, RANGE 22 WEST KNOWN AS U.S. HWY. 95, PROCEEDING SOUTH TO TOPOCK, ENDING AT I-40 IN SECTION 3, TOWNSHIP 16 NORTH, RANGE 21 WEST IN THE SOUTH MOHAVE VALLEY AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA. WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on November 1, 1993, a public hearing was held to determine whether approval should be granted for the above described street name change, and WHEREAS, the proposed name change is for a portion of Hwy. 95 starting at the southwest corner of Section 11, Township 17 North, Range 22 West, proceeding south to Topock and ending at I- 40. The above described portion of State Highway 95 has been abandoned by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and turned over to Mohave County, and WHEREAS, this request is seeking conformance with the County Roads System, including existing signage. There are three proposed names corresponding to three roadway segments which comprise that portion of Hwy. 95 abandoned by ADOT, and WHEREAS, the first roadway segment begins at the southwest corner of Section 11, Township 17 North, Range 22 West, also known as Higgins Corner, follows the section line then terminates at a point approximately 3.8 miles to the east. The proposed name for the first segment is Courtwright Road, and WHEREAS, the second segment begins 3.8 miles east of the southwest corner of Section 11, Township 17 North, Range 22 West, and extends in a southeasterly direction terminating at the intersection with Oatman Highway, also known as milepost 0.0 for County Route #1. The proposed name for the second segment is County Route #1, and WHEREAS, the third segment begins at the intersection of the proposed County Route #1 and Oatman Highway, also known as milepost 0.0 for County Route #1, and continues in a southerly direction terminating at the intersection of I-40, also known as milepost 0.0 for Oatman Highway. This particular segment of the abandoned Hwy. 95 is in alignment with the road existing and known as Oatman Highway; therefore, the proposed name for the third segment is Oatman Highway, and A. ~.- ,;., .. .~ . . BY- 2305 PG 629 (FEE~93-6278~) WHEREAS, the proposed names, Courtwright Road, County Route #1 and Oatman Highway, for the abandoned portion of Hwy. 95 have been reviewed and approved by the Mohave County Rural Addressing Coordinator and the Mohave County Public Works Department, and WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on October 13, 1993, the Commission recommended APPROVAL of the street name change as follows: ~ . ,;::;~ f~"f\ \'::.'.....;.,.~ t. 1. The roadway segment beginning at the southwest corner of Section 11, Township 17 North, Range 22 West, also known as Higgins Corner, and extending east along the section line to a point terminating at approximately 3.8 miles east of the beginning be named Courtwright Road. 2. The roadway segment beginning approximately 3.8 miles east of the southwest corner of Section 11, Township 17 North, Range 22 West continuing in a southeasterly direction and terminating at the intersection with Oatman Highway (at milepost 0.0 for County Route #1) be named County Route #1. 3 . . The roadway segment beginning at the intersection of the proposed County Route #1 and Oatman Highway, also known as milepost 0.0 for County Route #1, continuing in a southerly direction and terminating at the intersection of I-40, (at milepost 0.0 for Oatman Highway) be named Oatman Highway. WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, October 17, 1993, and posted October 14, 1993, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on November 1, 1993, approved this zone change as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein. .
