PAGE 1 OF 2 HOHAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RECORDING FEE o~oo He RESOLUTION NO. 93-274 A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH AN ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF THE EXISTING 84-FOOT ROADWAY LOCATED IN LAKE HAVASU HEIGHTS, TRACT 1029, BEING A PORTION OF JORDAN DRIVE, STARTING ON THE WEST SIDE OF WAGON WHEEL DRIVE, THENCE WEST 500 FEET AND TERMINATING ON THE EAST EDGE OF BLM LAND BETWEEN LOTS 1 AND 110, SECTION 7, TOWNSHIP 15 NORTH, RANGE 19 WEST, LOCATED IN THE LAKE RAVASU AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA. WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held October 4, 1993, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether approval should be granted to Richard and Monica Krug of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, for a roadway abandonment located between Lots 1 and 110, Lake Havasu Heights, Tract 1029, in the Lake Havasu Area, and f~~ WHEREAS, Lake Havasu Heights is located approximately five \\6~ miles south of Interstate 40 and approximately one mile east of Highway 95. The area to be abandoned is accessed from Highway 95 by Lake Havasu Heights Drive, east approximately one mile to Linden Road, thence south approximately 1000 feet to Seely Drive, thence east approximately 500 feet to Wagon Wheel Drive, thence south approximately 1400 feet to Palo verde Drive, the eastern portion of the proposed abandonment, and WHEREAS, review of Floodplain Map #040058-2960B indicates this parcel to be clear of a designated floodplain. There are currently three buildings located on the property adjacent to the road to be abandoned; two are residential homes and the other a large garage with a living area attached to it. Surrounding land use consists of scattered residences to the north, south, and east throughout the Lake Havasu Heights Subdivision. The area to the west is BLM land, and ":E!.f)'~' 1-;.-.,."".......:, \:_'~: WHEREAS, the applicant is the owner of the adjacent lots to the north and south of the proposed road to be abandoned, and WHEREAS, the property adjacent to the road to be abandoned is zoned R-E/1A (Residential Recreation/One Acre Minimum Lot Size) zone. If this roadway is to be abandoned the additional land will accrue to the adjacent property. This additional acreage will create lots that are greater than two acres, which will allow Lots 1 and 110 to be divided without rezoning, and .."~ (" ';::~?:~{J ".-/ . . RESOLUTION NO. 93-274 Page 2 WHEREAS, at the public hearing Planning and Zoning Commission on Commission recommended DENIAL of the the following reason: before the Mohave County September 8, 1993, the requested abandonment for 1. The Mohave County Public Works Department would like to have this roadway remain for possible future development to the west of Lake Havasu Heights. WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, September 19, 1993, and posted September 17, 1993, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes, and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on Monday, October 4 1993, denied this Abandonment, as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
