'rhe Board of Supervisors of Mohave County, Arizona met this 1st day
of February, 1988 in a regular session pursuant to the call of the
Chairman in which all members joined; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors, at their meeting on January 4,
1988, acknowledged receipt of a petition signed by ten (10)
resident taxpayers of Mohave County including the owners of Parcels
41 and 42, requesting that a street, known as Ajo Road, be
abandoned and that the beginning of the street is State Highway 68
and that the terminus of the street is at the north line of parcels
41 and 42, as shown on the aml~nded Record of Survey, recorded
February 18, 1976 at fee #76-3771; and

WHEREAS, this easement was depict.ed and identified on thle Record of
Survey and Roadway and Utility Easement map for Slection 10,
Township :21 North, Range 18 West, recorded August 22, 1975 at fee
#75-20615 and as amended and recorded February 18, 1976 at Fee #76-
377l; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors referred this matter to the
Planning and Zoning Commission for review and a formal
recommendation as per A,rticle 1.12 of the Mohave County Subdivision
Regulations; and
WHEREAS, this easement, which is between highway 68 and Supai Road,
runs in a north-south direction, is roughly 1,500 feet in length;
and
WHEREAS, Ajo Road has not been opened or constructed and there are
no utilities within this roadway and utility easement; and
WHEREAS, the petitioners are requesting the abandonment of this
public roadway easement to accommodate the design of the Adobe R-V
and MobilE! Home Park; and

WHEREAS, the Adobe Park plans and
indicates that the owners intend

WHEREAS, the boundary of Parcels 41 and 42 include and extend to
the center of the roadway and utiJ.ity easements; and
WHEREAS, those easement.s north of Supai Road and south of Highway
68, identified as Ajo Road, are offset and do not align with this
portion of Ajo Road which is proposed to be abandoned; and

WHEREAS, Mohave County has requested Arizona Department of
Transportat ion for an l:mtry p,ermi t for Adobe Road which is
presently used for access on and off Highway 68 but has not asked
for a permit for Ajo Road; and
WHEREAS, the utility companies have indicated that they have no
facilities within this easement and would have no objection to this
abandonment if a public utility easement is reserved in this same
alignment for their us,e in providing service to the Adobe R-V and
Mobile Home Park; and
WHEREAS, this abandonment request has been evaluated by the
Planning and Zoning Commission in accordance with Article 1.12 of
the M,ohave County Subdivision Regulations and their findings
submitted to the Board of Supervisors in Resolution P&ZC: 88-8; and

WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission, by adopting Resolution
P&ZC: 88-8 recommended approval of this abandonment based on the
understanding that this abandonment does not include any portion of
the existing right-of-~ray or easements for Highway 68 or Supai Road
and with the stipulation that a public utility easement shall be
reserved in this alignment and/or the owners shall grant the twenty
(20') foot drai nage easement, together wi th a twenty (20 ') foot
private ingress-egress and utility easement within the alignment of
this public roadway easem~:!nt as d.epicted on the plans for the Adobe
R-V and Mobile Home Park; and
WHEREAS, the notice for this public hearing was published in the
Mohave Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in the
County s€!at on January JL7 and 24, 1988 as required by Arizona
Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Subdivision Regulations; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has the authority to abandon said
roadway and utility easements, pursuant to A.R.S. 28-1907, A.R.S.
11-806.01 and Article 1.12 of the Mohave County Subdivision
Regulations; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Board hereby abandons this
roadway and utility easement described herein, as recommended by
the Planning and Zoning Commission per Resolution P&ZC: 88-8; and

NOW THEREFORE, be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors
instructs the Clerk of the Board to record this resolution upon
receipt of the grant of a twenty (20 ') foot drainage easement,
together with a twenty (20') foot private ingress-egress and
utility easement within the alignment of this public roadway
easement as depicted on the plans for the Adobe R-V and Mobile Home
Park from the owners.
