HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-072 RESOLUTION KO. 88-72 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met in Special Session this 19th day of September, 1988, and; I WHEREAS, the Arizona Department of Transportation has established guidelines for objectively prioritizing road improveme~nts and the guidelines include safety factors, user benefits and traffic generators as criteria; and WHEREAS, although the Arizona Department of Transportation has addressed these responsibilities, guidelines and criteria; the condition of U.S. 93 is dangerous and critical between Mile Marker l49 and Mile Marker 36; and WHEREAS, numerous deaths and injuries occur along U.S. Route 93 throughout the year which may be due to the large number of vehicles using the route as well as safety factors; and I WHEREAS, a number of m<l.jor traffic tragedies have recently occurred along U.S. Route 93, between Mile Marker 149 and Mile Marker 36; and WHEREAS, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors are concerned for the health and safety of those traveling along U.S. Route 93 through Mohave County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the Arizona Department of Transportation is encouraged to expedite and raise the priority of those U. S. Route 93 pro jects scheduled over the next five years between Mile Marker l49 and Mile Marker 36" 2. That the Arizona Department of Transportation is encouraged to use every effort to design and construct road improvements along U.S. Route 93 to prevent similar tragedies from occurring.
