RESOLUTION NO. 97-135
.. WHEREAS, tht: Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met in Regular session this 7th day of April,
997,and
\VHEREAS, in 1996, the non~profit On site Wastewater Association of Arizona was incorporated to
give a voice to members of all disciplines and trades, to encourage the free exchange of ideas, to upgrade skills
through education and policies, and unifomL standards, and
\VHEREAS, the: Mohave County Parks Departmenl allowed temporary use of land in Davis Camp for a
demonstration training center, and
WHEREAS, the center has a variety of septic systems set up and utilizes clean water for demonstration
purposes, and
WHEREAS, there are Mohave County Health Department offices in the Bullhead City area that deal
directly with rules and regulations regarding wastewater facilities, and
WHEREAS, Mohave County is aware that the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land
Management, is in ownership of certain lands behind or adjacent to the County's Health Department in
Bullhead City, and
WHEREAS, Mohave County recognizes the need to keep Arizona moving forward and they wish to
provide a forum which involves the promotion and development of new and improved practice:s, policies, and
emiform standards regarding onsite wastewater systems, and
WHEREAS, Mohave County is empowered by Section 11-951, Arizona Revised Statutles to enter into
agreements and acting by and through its Board of Supervisors has resolved to enter into an int1ergovernmental
agreement by which Mohave County would respl~ctfully request that the Bureau of Land Management consider
a leaselrent of that certain land in ownership by the Bureau of Land Management to Mohave County to allow
the training center to be located on that site.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, this 7th day of April, 1997.
