SILVER CREEK ROAD RIGHT OF WAY ABANDONMEN1
vVHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors met in Special Session this 20th day of June, 1994, and;
\VHEREAS, on May 31, 1994, the Board received from th~ County Engineer, a
recommendation to abandon the existing 100 foot roadway (Silver Creek Road) and 16 foot
pubIic utility easement that was dedicated to Mohave County on November 2, 1990 in Book 5,
of Parcel Plats, Page 28 of the Records of Mohave County, Arizona, Across the South 1/2 of
Section 27, Township 20 North, Range 21 West, and;
WHEREAS, a petition signed by ten resident taxpayers of Mohave County to abandon this
portion of the roadway was received on May 31, 1994, by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors
in compliance with A.R.S. 18-201, and;
WHEREAS, a new alignment on Silver Creek Road has been designed by Mohave County
Engineering Department. The new alignment dedication has been signed by the owner, who has
agreed to the new alignment and abandonment and will be recorded shortly after the recordation
of this resolution. The alignment was changed to improve the road safety factor, and;
WHEREAS, a map and description of said proposed road (Exhibit "A" attached) was available,
a Public Hearing was set for 11:00 .AM, June 20, 1994 in the Supervisors Meeting room and
Notice of same was given as prescribed by law, and;
WHEREAS, said hearing was held at the time and place set and no one appeared to object and
no written statements of objection opposing the granting of the prayer of said petition were
received, and the Board considered the feasibility, advantages, and necessity of said proposed
abandonment;
NOW TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Silver Creek Road roadway dedication as set out
on the attached map as described above, and recorded in Book 5, of Parcel Plats, Page 28 is
hereby abandoned and vacated. The new alignment roadway dedication is to be recorded after
this resolution is recorded.
