RJE;SOLUTION NO. 94-198
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met in Special Session
this 20th day of June, 1994, and
WHEREAS, the Mohave Valley area of Mohave County is experiencing a very
rapid growth and
WHEREAS, to help improve the safety of the children of Mohave Valley
walking or riding their bikes to the Fort Mojave Elementary School, and to improve
the traffic flows in the area, Mohave County has determined that a ten foot wide
sidewalk/bicycle path (1.9 miles long) on Joy Lane in Mohave Valley, would result
in improved pedestrian safety and improve the traffic flow of motorists on Joy
Lane in Mohave Valley, Arizona, and
WHEREAS, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors has determined that it
would be in the best interest and safety of the citizens of Mohave Valley and
Mohave County to apply for a State Department of Transportation Enhanceme~t
Fund Application grant for the construction of such a sidewalk, and will commit
$50,000 in Highway User Revenue Funds for this project, and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Transportation requires a resolution of
support, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors authorizes Thomas W. Brady, Mohave
County Parks Manager, to sign the application and any amendments and/or
modifications thereto on behalf of Mohave County.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, this 20th day of June, 1994.
