RESOLUTION NO. 94-64 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met in Special Session this 14th day of February, 1994, and WHEREAS, the Arizona State Parks Board is constructing a facility, known as the Lake Havasu State Park Weter Safety and Information Center utilizing State Lake Improvement Funds (SLIF), at Contact Point in Lake Havasu State Park; and WHEREAS, various governmental agencies with Lake Havasu jurisdiction, including Arizona State Parks Board and Mohave County have teamed together in an effort to provide a coordinated, cost-effective approach to resource management on Lake Havasu in lieu of each agency operating independently; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the Center is to provide a central location from which coordinated boating safety, education, information, and law enforcement activities can be offered to the public by various governmental agencies with Lake Havasu jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, Mohave County desires to occupy and utilize certain areas of the Center as a base for its activities in support of its jurisdictional responsibilities for the Lake Havasu City area; and WHEREAS, the Arizona State Parks Board is willing to provide space in the Center for- Moh:we County to perform these activities, and WHEREAS, both parties wish to agree on the areas of the Center to be utilized by Mohave County, and the method to be utilized for sharing the operating costs related to such usage through an INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT; and WHIt;REAS, Mohave County Board of Supervisors has determined that it would be in the hest interest and safety of the citizens of the Lake Havasu City area of Mohave County to enter into an INTERGOVEHNMENTAL AGREEMENT, and . . . Resolution No. 94-64 Page 2 WHEREAS, Mohave County is empowered by Arizona Revised Statutes 11- 9f)2, 11-441, 15-382, 5-391 to enter into agreements and acting by and through its Board of Supervisors has resolved to enter into an agreement; and WHEREAS, the Arizona State Parks Board is empowered by Arizona Revised Statutes 41-511.05. WHEREAS, the Mohave Coun ty Board of Supervisors hereby approves an INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT for a Water Safety and Information Center at Contact Point in Lake Havasn State Park between Mohave County and the Arizona State Parks Board. WHEREAS, ~Toe Cook, Mohave County Sheriff is authorized to sign this contract. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOP'rnD this 14th day of February, 19S14.
