RESOLUTION NO. 93-101
A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE PASSAGE OF HOUSE BILL 2195 WHICH WILL
REPEAL THE EXISTING WEIGHT DISTANCE TAX AND REPLACE IT WITH AN
EIGHT CENT PER GALLON INCREASE IN DIESEL FUEL TAX.
WHEREAS, the state legislature is considering the passage of
House Bill 2195 which will repeal the existing weight distance
tax and replace it with an eight cent per gallon increase in
diesel fuel tax; and
WHEREAS, this bill if passed will result in a 22 million
dollar per year loss in HURF Revenue to Arizona Counties,
approximately 20 percent: of all existing HURF Revenue to each
county; and annual loss of 37 million dollars to Arizona Cities;
and an annual loss of 43 million dollars to ADOT; and
WHEREAS, the loss of approximately 1.2 million dollars per
YE~ar of County HURF Funds and the decrease of annual HURF Funds
allocated to the Cities of Bullhead City, Kingman and Lake
Havasu will cause a severe economic hardship upon the citizens of
Mohave County.
NOW I THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mohave County Board
of Supervisors strongly opposes House Bill 2195 and requests the
Mohave County State Legislators to vote against this Bill.
