RESOLUTION NO. 92-279
WHEREAS" the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met in
Special Session this 17th day of August, 1992, and
WHEREAS, under the Constitution of Arizona, Article 6,
Section 10, and A.R.S. 12-121, Mohave County, Arizona, may have
one (1) judge of the Superior Court for each 30,000 inhabitants,
or the major fraction hereof: and
WHEREAS, according to statisti.cs developed by the WE~st:ern
Arizona Council of Governments, the populatiun of Mohave County
for July 1991, was at least 102,375; and
WHEREAS, a reasonablE~ projection of population, considering
historic population growth and trends in the County, would
indicate that the present population is sufficient to support the
appointment of an additional superior court judge; and
WHEREAS, Mohave Count:y now has three judges of the Superior
Court along with a Judge pro-tern funded by the Arizona Supreme
Court; and
WHEREAS, in view of an understanding for continued funding
by the Supreme Court of Arizona as set forth in Resolution No.
88-52 of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors, attached hereto,
the Board believes that the public interest and welfare would be
furthered by authorizing a fourth court judge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'l' RESOLVED that the Governor of the
State of Arizona, be hereby requested to approve the appointment
of one (1) additional division of the Superior Court in and for
the County of Mohave, State of Arizona; and
BE IT FURTHER
requested to appoint a

IT IS HEREBY RESPEC']rFUI~LY REQUESTED that the creation of
the division for said judge of the Superior Court be effective as
of July 1, 1992.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at the Special meeting of the
Board of Supervisors of Mohave County, Arizona, this 17th day of
August, 1992.
