HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-250 I I I RESOLUTION NO. 92-250 WHEREAS, The Governor's Office for Children is the delegate agency for the Children's Justice J~ct Grant under the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act, Section 109 [42 U.S.C. 5106c]; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the foregoing section of the act is to make grants to the States for the purpose of assisting States in developing, establishing, and operating programs designed to improve: 1. the handling of child abuse cases, particularly cases of child sexual abuse, in a manner which limits additional trauma to the child victim, and 2. the investigation and prosecution of cases of child abuse, particularly child sexual abuse, and WHEREAS, the Children's Jus1:ice Task force in i t;s 1989 rE~port and subsequent revisions, recommended that interagency counsels should be established to address issues of coordination of child physical and/or sexual abuse cases within each of Arizona's fifteen counties, and WHEREAS, Mohave County believes it to be in its best interest to enter into an intergovernmental agreement for the purpose of establishing and developing and operating the programs discussed in the foregoing, NOW, THEREFORE, Mohave County does formally enter into the intergovernmental agreement attached hereto, to fulfill the purposes of the Children's .Justice Act and the recommendations of the Children's Justice Task Force.
