RESOI.UTION NO. 90-194
A RESOLUTION OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS DECLARING
A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY AS A RESULT OF THE RECENT FLOODING
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF BULLHEAD CITY; REQUESTING AID AND
ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF ARIZONA UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF
STATE LAW FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THE NECESSARY MONIES TO
REPAIR THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE FLOOD.
WHElU:AS, the City of Bullhead and its residents have been
subjected to unusually heavy flooding as the result of the
monsoon storm which occurred on July 13, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the flood waters which resulted from the monsoon
storm have caused extensive damag'e and destruction to private
property as well as to the public facilities and infrastructure
located within Bullhead City; and
WHEREAS, the flood conditions caused by the monsoon storm
have resulted in a condition of extreme peril and danger to the
health, safety, welfare, and peace of many citizens of the City:
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of Bullhead city has declared t:hat an
emergency now exists in Bullhead City which endangers life and
property within the City; and
WHEREAS, the declaration of an emergency is required by the
local authorities in order to receive monetary aid from the State
of Arizona and its agencies to assist the City in the repair and
reconstruction of public property damaged by the flood
conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors does
hereby declare that an emergency does exist within Bullhead City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors
this 23rd day of July, 1990.
