RESOLUTION NO. 94-13 A RESQJJUTION SETTING FORTH A ZONING USE PERMIT ON A PORTION OF THE N~ OF THE N~ OF THE N~ OF THE NW\ OF THE SW\ OF SECTION 22, 'rOWNSHIP 16 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST, FOR THE ES'l'ABLISHMENT OF AN OFF-PREMISE SIGN IN A C-MO (COMMERCIAL MANUFACTURING/OPEN LOT STORAGE) ZONE, IN THE WIKIEUP PORTION OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY GENERAL AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA. WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on March 1, 1994, a public hearing waS conducted to determine whether approval should be granted for a Zoning Use permit for the above described property to applicant Jones Outdoor Advertising of Tucson, Arizona, and rt .~:~~~ WHEREAS, the property is located in the Wikieup area on the east side of Highway 93 and can be accessed directly from the highway, and WHEREAS, review of Floodplain Map Jl040058-2913B indicates that the property is within zone C, an area of minimal flooding, and WHEREAS, the surrounding land uses consist of scattered residential homes, vacant land and commercial businesses along Highway 93. There is an auto service garage and a towing business on the property, and WHEREAS, the property is zoned C-MO (Commercial Manufacturing/Open Lot Storage) which permits off-premise signs after obtaining a Zoning Use Permit. There are no other off- premise signs within 1000 feet and this sign would not exceed the permitted number of signs within the section, and WHEREAS, the planning and Zoning staff recommended approval of the proposed off-premise sign, and WHEREAS, at the planning and Zoning Conuniss ion recommended the following: public hearing before the Mohave County Commission on December 8, 1993, the DENIAL for a Zoning Use Permit based on ..........;,: ~. >~. :":') 1. Area opposition evidenced by a petition signed by a number of citizens from the Wikieup area opposed to an off-premise sign within their community. RESOLUTION NO. 94-13 Page 2 .. . . ". '..- ~ '." WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, February 13,1994, and posted February 14, 1994, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 1994, DENIED this Zoning Use Permit as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
