RESOLUTION NO. 94-172
A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A REQUEST FOR A ROAD RENAMING IN
BERMUDA ACRES, SECTION .15, TOWNSHIP 17 NORTH, RANGE 22 WEST. THE
ROAD KNOWN AS HAMILTON DRIVE STARTING AT ST. GEORGE DRIVE, THEN
EXTENDING EAST AND ENDING AT BERMUDA AVENUE, IS TO BE RENAMED
HOPKINS DRIVE, IN THE SOUTH MOHAVE VALLEY AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY,
ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board
of Supervisors held on June 6, 1994, a public hearing was
conducted to determine whether approval should be granted for a
Road Renaming in the above described area, and
WHEREAS, Hamilton Drive will be renamed Hopkins Drive.
Hopkins Drive extends east and west between St. George Drive and
Bermuda Avenue in Bermuda Acres Subdivision, and
WHEREAS, Mohave County zoning Ordinance Section 32-B-2
states in part: "Duplication of names shall not be permitted
within a given geographical area unless the proposed name is in
general alignment of or a continuation of the existing named
road. . . ", and
WHEREAS, this name change was requested by the Mohave Valley
Fire Department because the name is duplicated in another
subdivision in the same 911 emergency response area. The
Hamilton Drive located in Bermuda Acres was chosen to be renamed
because there are fewer residents that will be affected by the
change, and
WHEREAS, this request has been reviewed and approved by the
Mohave County Rural Addressing Coordinator, and
WHEREAS,

WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman
Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman,
Mohave County, Arizona, May 22, 1994, and posted May 20, 1994, as
required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning
Regulations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors,
at their regular meeting on Monday, June 6, 1994, APPROVED this
Road Renaming as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and
Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
