A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A SPECIFIC USE ~ERMIT ON A PORTION OF THE
NW!s, NEl>{ OF SECTION 8, SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 15, TOWNSHIP 40 NORTH,
RANGE 15 WEST, FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A WASTE WATER TREATMENT
FACILITY IN AN M (GENERAL MANUFACTURING) ZONE, LOCATED IN THE ARIZONA
STRIP AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of
Superv~sors held on October 4, 1994, a public hearing was conducted to
determine whether approval should be granted for a Specif~c Use Perm~t
for the above described property to Danny Olson of St. George, Utah,
and
WHEREAS, the land is located south of 1-15 and west of the 1-15/
Littlef~eld interchange. The property is accessed from 1-15 via the
L~ttlefield exit, then southwest on Highway 91 to the site, which is
between 1-15 and Highway 91, and
WHEREAS, the site and surround~ng land uses in the area are
vacant. There are some resident~al dwellings and a school to the
south, and
WHEREAS, the applicant ~s proposing a truck stop on the site.
The truck stop will include a convenience store, laundry, showers,
restaurants, hotel, truck wash, and tire and lube shop, and
WHEREAS, all sewage will be handled by an on-site waste water
treatment plant. Waste water treatment plants are permitted uses in
manufacturing zones if approved by Spec~fic use Permit, and
WHEREAS, the Specific Use Permit w~ll be for the portion of the
site zoned M (Manufacturing), and
WHEREAS, review of Floodplain Map #040058-0025B indicates this
parcel is located in Zone C, an area of minimal flooding, and
WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning
and zoning Commission on September 14, 1994, the Commission
recommended APPROVAL for a Specific Use Permit subject to the
following:
1. The applicant comply with all applicable provisions of the
Mohave County Zoning Regulations.

2. That the Specific Use Permit be for a waste water treatment
plant; any other uses in the M (Manufacturing) zone will
require a Specific Use Permit.

4. If construction or use has not commenced within one year of
Board approval of the Specific use Permit or if the use has
been discontinued for six months, then approval shall
terminate at that date.
5. This Specific Use Permit is subject to revocation upon 60
days notification by the Board of Supervisors if, in the
opinion of the Commission and Board, the continued use of
the property would be oontrary to the public health, safety,
and welfare.
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily
Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County,
Arizona, September 18, 1994, and posted September 16, 1994, as
required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning
Regulations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at
their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 4, 1994, APPROVED this
Specific use Permit as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and
Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
