HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-503 .. i BOS RESOLUTION NO. 95-503 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMMENTS FROM THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CONCERNING BOARD OF SUPERVISOR CHANGES TO THE COMMISSION RECOMMENDED AMENDMENT TO THE MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING REGULATIONS WITH REGARD TO OPEN LOT STORAGE. WHEREAS, at their meeting on September 18, 1995, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors considered a proposed amendment to the Mohave County Zoning Regulations that addressed inequities in the open lpt storage provision; and WHEREAS, at their meeting on August 8, 1995, the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the adoption of the proposed amendment by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors made changes to the amendment that were aimed at addressing the following concerns: 1. Exempting lots of thirty-six (36) acres or more from fencing requirements; storage should not be visible from public roadways. 2. Material stored on vacant lots should be fenced from view regardless of the amount of storage. 3. Clarification of standards contained in the ordinance; and WHEREAS, at their meeting on November 8, 1995, the Planning and Zoning Commission concurred with the Board's changes with the following exception: The new Section 27.H.5.b would better reflect the Board's intent ifit read, "All storage on a vacant lot, regardless of square footage, shall be screened in compliance with 5.a above." WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, the Mohave Valley News, Today's News-Herald, and The Daily Spectrum on November 19, 1995, and was posted November 17,1995, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors that amendments to Section 9 and Section 27 of the Mohave County Zoning Regulations regarding open lot storage remain as adopted by BOS Resolution No. 95-381, except that Section 27.H.5.b is worded to read: " -. , RESOLUTION NO. 95-503 Page 2 5. b. All storage on a vacant lot, regardless of square footage, shall be screened in compliance with 5.a. above. NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors that the Mohave County Zoning Regulations be amended as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
