RESOLUTION OF TI-IE MOHA VE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
APPROVING THE APPLICATION
TO THE ARIZONA STATE PARKS BOARD
fOR BOATING LAW ENFORCEMENT AND SAFETY fUND GRANT
WI lEREAS, The Arizona State Legislature under A.R.S. ~5-383 has authorized the
establishment of a Boating Law Enforcement and Safety Fund (BLESF) providing funds to the
Board of Supervisors of Arizona counties for boating law enforcement and safety; and
WHEREAS, The Arizona State Parks Board is responsible f()r the administration of the fund
program within the State, setting up necessary rules and procedures governing application by county
Boards of Supervisors under the program; and
WllER.EAS, said procedures established by State Parks require the applicant to certify by
resolution the approval of applications, signature authorization, the availability of local matching
funds, where appropriate, and
WHEREAS, the project will contribute to the boating law enforcement and safety programs
of the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mohave County Board of Supervisors
hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for Boating Law Enforcement and Safety Fund
assistance; and
2. Certi fies that Mohave County will comply with all appropriate state regulations, policies,
guidelines, and requirements as they relate to the application; and
3. Understands that the project scope and funding amount are subject to final approval by the
State Parks Board and the State Legislature; and
4.
Authorizes the Sheriff of Mohave County to act on behalf of Mohave County in conducting
all negotiations, executing and submitting all documents including, but not limited to,
applications, agreements, amendments, and other documents which may be necessary for the
completion ofthe BLESF project.
