HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-272 I I I RESOLUTION NO. 92-272 STATING MORAVE COUNTY~S CONCERNS WITH HIGHWAY 95 VERSUS THE TOLL ROAD IN MORAVE VALLEY WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met in Special Session this 10th day of August, 1992, and WHEREAS, the residents of Bullhead City and Mohave Valley have travelled Highway 95, a road long neglected by the State of Arizona. WHEREAS, the public has long suffered with Highway 95 being only a two lane road. WHEREAS, the explosive growth of Mohave County has led the state. WHEREAS, a private company plans to construct a toll road through the Fort Mohave Indian Reservation, private land and homes in Willow Valley. WHEREAS, the majority of the citizens of Bullhead City and Mohave Valley have concerns for the well-being of businesses and residen"ts, possibly displaced by the construction of this toll road. WHEREAS, the residents of Bullhead City and Mohave Valley are very concerned about the economic impact of diverting the tourist business elsewhere. NOW, THEREFORE, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors request that the State of Arizona plan and construct State Highway 95 to five lanes from Needles, California to Bullhead Ci ty, Arizona before this toll road is constructed. It could cost all of us our livelihood if Highway 95 is bypassed by this toll road. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, this 10th day of August, 1992. MOHAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS the Board
