MOHAVE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 2005-1
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING
ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 13.1 AND 25 OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING
ORDINANCE INCREASING BUILDING HEIGHT IN AD (AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT
ZONE).
The Mohave County Zoning ordinance is amended as follows (added language is bolded; deleted
language is struck:
Section 13.1 REGULATIONS FOR AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT OR"A-D"ZONE
E. Height. No use or structure within the A D zone shall exceed sixty (60) feet in height or
shall encroach upon any flight or airspace control surfaces used or established for aircraft
approach, landing and maneuvering.
No use or structure within the A-D zone shall encroach upon any flight or airspace
control surfaces used or established for aircraft approach, landing or maneuvering.
No use or structure within the A-D zone shall exceed one hundred (100) feet, and
buildings exceeding a height of sixty (60) feet shall have increased setbacks in
accordance with Section 25 B.

A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH ORDINANCE NO. 2005-01 ADOPTING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE TO AMEND
SECTIONS 13.1 AND 25 OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE
INCREASING BUILDING HEIGHT IN AD (AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT ZONE)
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on
March 7, 2005, a public hearing was conducted concerning an amendment to Section 13.1
(Regulations for Airport Development or "A-D" Zone) and Section 25 (Setbacks and Area
Requirements) of the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the Kingman Airport Authority has requested an amendment in the height of
buildings allowed in Airport Development zones, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the request is to facilitate economic development within areas in
close proximity to municipal airports, and
WHEREAS, the amendment will provide for economic development while protecting the
airspace for flight operations, and
WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning
Commission on February 9, 2005, the Commission recommended APPROVAL of the attached
Mohave County Ordinance No. 2005-01, an amendment to Section 13.1 (Regulations for Airport
Development or "A-D" Zone) and Section 25 (Setbacks and Area Requirements) of the Mohave
County Zoning Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper
of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, on February 20, 2005, and was posted
on February 18, 2005, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning
Regulations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular
meeting on Monday, March 7, 2005, APPROVED the attached Mohave County Ordinance No. 2005-
01, an amendment to Section 13.1 (Regulations for Airport Development or "A-D" Zone) and
Section 25 (Setbacks and Area Requirements) of the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance, as
recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
