HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-05 ORDINANCE NO. 2006-05 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 27.A GENERAL PROVISIONS, SPECIAL USES OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE BY ADDING A SUBSECTION TO PROVIDE FOR TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION SITES VIA A ZONING USE PERMIT Section 1. The following item number 6 shall be added to Section 27.A of the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance: 6. Temporary construction sites that include more than one construction trailer and/or will be on site for more than six months. Construction sites under this subsection will be permitted for one year, unless otherwise stated by the Board of Supervisors. pIII II II II III IIII III I 1 III I III I II II I IIIII II IIII H III ✓ PAGE: 1 of 3 FEE p 2006097967 6 : 6481 P : 178 OFFICIAL RECORDS ‘g OF MOHAVE COUNTY JOAN MCCALL, COUNTY RECORDER 10/05/2006 02:22 PM Fee: $0.00 DOC TYPE: GRES PAID BY:MOHAVE CTY BD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLUTION NO. 2006-538A A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 2006-05 AMENDING SECTION 27.A GENERAL PROVISIONS, SPECIAL USES OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE BY ADDING A SUBSECTION TO PROVIDE FOR TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION SITES VIA A ZONING USE PERMIT WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on September 5, 2006, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether to allow large construction sites on a temporary basis via a Zoning Use Permit as requested by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Department, and WHEREAS, at their meeting on October 2, 2006, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors reconsidered this item due to an error, and WHEREAS, as Mohave County grows and construction activity increases, the County needs an officially recognized process for approving and regulating larger construction sites, and WHEREAS, locating these construction sites is crucial to the County's continued growth and economic health; and WHEREAS, the construction sites allowed under this provision are to be temporary, but of large scale and/or exceeding six months, and WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on August 9, 2006, the Commission recommended APPROVAL of an amendment to allow large construction sites on a temporary basis via a Zoning Use Permit; and WHEREAS, this amendment was advertised in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Mohave County on September 17, 2006, and posted in numerous places throughout the County on September 15, 2006. RESOLUTION NO. 2006-538A PAGE 2 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2006, APPROVED the attached amendment, Ordinance 2006-05, amending Section 27.A of the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance concerning the provision for temporary construction sites via a Zoning Use Permit should be approved by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors.
