A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A REQUEST FOR THE APPROVAL OF THE CHLORIDE
RV PARK PLANS. AS BUILT, ACCORDING TO SECTION 27.J, MOHA VE COUNTY ZONING
REGULATIONS, BEING A PORTION OF THE EY1 NEY.. OF SECTION 4, TOWNSHIP 23
NORTH, RANGE 18 WEST, LYING NORTHERLY OF TENNESSEE AVENUE KNOWN AS THE
WALAPAI MINING DISTRICT PATENTED MINE-BIG BOY, IN THE CHLORIDE TOWNSITE,
IN THE MOHA VE COUNTY GENERAL AREA, MOHA VE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on June 3,
1996, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether approval should be granted for the RV Park
Plans, as built, for the above described property to Hal and Dorothy Olson, Chloride, Arizona, and
WHEREAS, the RV park is located approximately 15 miles north of Kingman in the old Chloride
Townsite on a parcel known as the Walapai Mining District Patented Mine-Big Boy. This property is
accessed from Highway 93 via east on Chloride Road, also known as Mohave County Road 125, which
becomes Tennessee Avenue once entering in the old Chloride Townsite. The site fronts on Tennessee
Avenue. An operational RV park containing 33 RV spaces on 13.94 acres is on the site, and
WHEREAS, on July 23,1973, Mohave County added Section 27.1 to the Zoning Ordinance which
requires the submittal ofRV park plans for review and approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission,
state and local health departments, and any other jurisdictional agency. Section 27.1 was amended on
February 7, 1983 and now requires that RV parks be approved by the Board of Supervisors. This RV park,
as built, applies to the 14 RV spaces on 0.90 acre of the RV park constructed after February, 1983. The
balance of the RV park, containing 13.04 acres and 19 RV spaces, is exempt from the requirements of27.J
because it is considered non-conforming, and
WHEREAS, a zoning use permit was granted on December 4, 1995, via BOS Resolution No. 95-
498, to correct this zoning violation. In accordance with Section 27.1, a condition of the zoning use permit
required that the RV park, as built, be provided for review and approval by the Planning and Zoning
Commission and Board of Supervisors. The County Engineer recommends acceptance of the plan, as built,
for this RV park, and
WHEREAS, a review of the FEMA FIRM panel #040058-1 975B indicates the site is in Zone C,
not in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area, and
WHEREAS, the following are Findings of Fact for the above captioned item:

a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations.
b. The proposed action complies with the Mohave County General Plan.
c. The General Plan designates this part of the county as a Rural Development Area and
Outlying Community.
d. The neighboring area does not contain other like land uses. However, the site is adequate
for the action intended and the use is compatible with the surrounding land uses and terrain.
e. The site has legal access.
f. There are no significant environmental features affecting the site.
WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on
May 8, 1996, the Commission recommended APPROVAL for the RV Park Plans, as built, and
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper of
general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, May 19, 1996, and posted on May 17, 1996, as
required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting
on Monday, June 3, 1996, APPROVED the RV Park Plans, as built, as recommended by the Mohave County
Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
