A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH AN ABANDONMENT OF THE WESTERLY 112 FEET OF
AN 8-FOOT PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT ALONG THE NORTHERLY PROPERTY LINE OF
LOT 814, VALLE VISTA, TRACT 1192, IN SECTION 10, TOWNSHIP 23 NORTH, RANGE 15
WEST, IN THE VALLE VISTA PORTION OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY GENERAL AREA,
MOHA VE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on May 5,
1997, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether an Abandonment should be granted for the
above described public utiljty easement as requested by Richard and Esther Smithmeyer of Kingman,
Arizona, and .
WHEREAS, the site is in Valle Vista, approximately 15 miles northeast of the City of Kingman.
Access to the site is from State Highway 66 via northwesterly on Concho Drive. The site lies some 300 feet
north of the intersection of Concho Drive and Rawhide Drive, and
WHEREAS, the applicants own Lot 814 and request this Abandonment to allow for the construction
of a new concrete block wall in conjunction with a new home on the lot. The Mohave County General Plan
designates this area as a Low Density Residential, Urban Development Area, and
WHEREAS, Citizens Utilities Company, Mohave Electric Cooperative, and Truxton Canyon Water
Company have reviewed the owner's petition and have no objection to the easement abandonment. Valle
Vista is not served by a cable television franchise, and
WHEREAS, a review ofFEMA FIRtVl Panel #040058-2025B indicates the parcel described to be
in Zone C, not in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area, and
WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above captioned item:
a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations.
b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan.
c. The site is adequate for the action intended and the use is consistent with the surroundings
and terrain.
d. The westerly 112 feet of the public utility easement is currently unoccupied.
e. The site has legal access.
f. The site slopes slightly downward toward the northwest.

WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on
April 9, 1997, the Commission recommended APPROVAL for the Abandonment, and
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general
circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, April 19, 1997, and April 26, 1997, and posted April18,
1997, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting
on Monday, May 5, 1997, APPROVED this Abandonment as recommended by the Mohave County
Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
