WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether approval should be granted for an Amendment to the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance, as requested by Mohave County, and WHEREAS, staff has been directed to amend the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance to allow Recreational Vehicles (RVs) to be permitted as an accessory residence in the R-E (Residential Recreation) zone without requiring a Special Use Permit, and WHEREAS, currently, an RV is allowed as an accessory residence in the A-R (Agricultural Residential)zone with an approved Accessory Residence Permit and in the R-E(Residential Recreation) zone with an approved Special Use Permit. A Special Use Permit requires the Board of Supervisors' approval, while the Accessory Residence Permit is issued administratively. Removing the requirement to obtain a Special Use Permit for an RV as an accessory residence in the R-E zone will bring the process more in line with the A-R zone, making it easier for property owners to obtain permits, and WHEREAS,the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item: a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations. b. The proposed action and effect comply with the Mohave County General Plan. WHEREAS,at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on December 13,2023,the Commission recommended APPROVAL of this Amendment to the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance, and WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, the Spectrum, a newspaper of general circulation in the Arizona Strip Vicinity, Mohave County, Arizona the Mohave Valley Daily News, a newspaper of general circulation in the South Mohave Valley vicinity, Mohave County, Arizona, and Today's News-Herald,a newspaper of general circulation in the Lake Havasu vicinity,Mohave County, MOHAVE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 2024-06 PAGE 2 Arizona,on December 13,2023, and was posted on the Mohave County website on November 29,2023 as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that the Mohave County Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on January 2,2024,ADOPTED this Ordinance to amend Section 16 of the Mohave County Zoning Ordinance as follows (wording to be added is bolded and double underlined): Section 16 REGULATIONS FOR RESIDENTIAL.RECREATION OR"R-Ell ZONE D. Uses Allowed After Acquiring a Special Use Permit 1. Hospitals,public and quasi-public buildings,parks,playgrounds,recreational areas or camps and golf courses, and uses of similar nature. 2.
