HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-105 '~07~,~70~ BY, 3083 F'G 975 OFFICIAL RECORDS OF I10HAVE COUNT%' AZ JOAN HC C~LL~ HOH~E COUNTY RECORDER 0510'1f~8 02:07P PA6E 1 OF 2 ~OHAVE CfUNTY BOARD OF SURERUISORS RECORDING FEE ( RESOLUTION NO. 98-105 A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE MOHAVE COUNTY GENERAL PLAN BY CHANGING THE LAND USE DESIGNATIONS AND EXHIBIT NUMBERS VI.3, VI.4, AND VI.5 THEREIN, AND AS DESCRIBED IN THE VIRGIN RIVER COMMUNITIES AREA PLAN FOR THAT PORTION OF NORTHWEST ARIZONA THAT INCLUDES THE AREA BETWEEN THE VIRGIN RIVER (PAIUTE WILDERNESS) GORGE ENTRANCE AND THE NEVADA BORDER, AND FROM NEAR THE UTAH STATE LINE TO THREE MILES SOUTH OF ELBOW CANYON ROAD IN THE ARIZONA STRIP AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA. WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on Monday, May 4, 1998, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether the Mohave County General Plan should be Amended so that land use designations and Exhibit numbers VI.3, VI.4, and VI.5 therein will conform with those described in the Virgin River Communities Area Plan, as prepared by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Department, and WHEREAS, the Virgin River Communities Area Plan covers portions of six townships. The approximate east-west boundaries include the area from the Nevada state line on the west to the entrance to the Virgin River Gorge (Paiute Wilderness) on the east, and include the Virgin River Communities and the Virgin River and its tributaries. The approximate north-south boundaries include from three miles south of Elbow Canyon Road to several miles north of the Beaver Dam conm~unity, and WHEREAS, the Virgin River Communities Area Plan document and Land Use Map are available for the public to review at the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Department in Kingman, Arizona, and WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item: a. Ali notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations. b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan, as amended herein, and WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday, March 11, 1998, the Commission recommended APPROVAL of the Amendment subject to the following: 1. The community of Desert Springs shall be recognized as an Outlying Community and added to Exhibits VI.3, VI.4, and VI.5 of the Mohave County General Plan. The community of Beaver Dam shall be recognized as an Outlying Community and added to Exhibit VI.3. F'(~GE 2 OF 2 BK 3Q83 F'fi 976 FEE~98026709 RESOLUTION NO. 98-105 Page 2 2. Mohave County General Plan, Exhibit VI.3 (Planning Area Locations in Unincorporated Mohave County) shall be amended as follows: The Outlying Communities of Arvada, Beaver Dam, Desert Springs, Littlefield, and Scenic shall be added to both the Urban Development Area (UDA) and Suburban Development Area (SDA) sections as the "Virgin River Communities". 3. Mohave County General Plan, Exhibit VI.4 (Countywide Land Use Diagram), shall be amended as follows: The land use designations for the Outlying Communities of Arvada, Beaver Dam, Desert Springs, Littlefield, and Scenic, and portions of Township 39 North, Ranges 15 and 16 West, Township 40 North, Ranges 15 and 16 West, and Township 41, Ranges 15 and 16 West shall be designated Urban and Suburban Development Areas as depicted in the Virgin River Communities Area Plan and Land Use Map. 4. Mohave County General Plan, Exhibit VI.5 (General Land Use Diagram, Arizona Strip), shall be amended as follows: The land use designations for the Outlying Communities of Arvada, Beaver Dam, Desert Springs, Littlefield, and Scenic, and portions of Township 39 North, Ranges 15 and 16 West, Township 40 North, Ranges 15 and 16 West, and Township 41 North, Ranges 15 and 16 West, shall be designated Urban amd Suburban Development Areas as depicted in the Virgin River Communities Area Plan and Land Use Map, and WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, April 18, 1998, and posted April 17, 1998, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on Monday, May 4, 1998, APPROVED this Amendment as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Conunission and outlined herein.
