RESOLUTION NO. 96-433
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY ACCESS PARALLEL TO THE
EXISTING PARKER-DAVIS DAM NO.2 TRANSMISSION LINE FOR THE KINGMAN-
HA V ASU TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT
WHEREAS, at the Board of Supervisors regular meeting of December 2, 1996, the Board
considered the alternatives for this transmission line: and
WHEREAS, Citizens Utilities Company proposes a 230 KV transmission line from the Hilltop
Substation in Kingman, Arizona to the Black Mesa Substation south of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the transmission line requires right-of-way from the Bureau of Land Management, and
the BLM has developed an Environmental Assessment to comply with NEP A; and
WHEREAS, the proposed alignment for the transmission line is through the Crossman Peak Natural
Scenic Area; and
\VHEREAS, the Mohave County Public Land Use Committee considered this item at their meeting
on November 19, 1996, and recommended that the Board of Supervisors support the right-of-way access
parallel to the existing Parker-Davis Dam No.2 transmission line. If this alternative is not possible, the
transmission lines should follow existing roadways; and
WHEREAS, the Public Land Use Committee believes that this recommendation will serve the needs
of the residents and businesses in Mohave County while minimizing the visual impact to Crossman Peak
Natural Scenic Area.
NO\" THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors supports the
recommended alternative for the Kingman-Havasu Transmission Line.
