A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS REFERRING ALL APPLICATIONS TO
THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR CHANGE OF ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES, AND
ABANDONMENTS AND REVERSIONS TO ACREAGE TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION FOR A REPORT.
WHEREAS, A.R.S 11-829 (A) provides that a property owner or authorized agent of a property
owner desiring an amendment or change in the zoning ordinance changing the zoning district boundaries
within an area previously zoned shall file an application for the amendment or change, and
WHEREAS, A.R.S. 11-829 (B) provides, in part, that upon receipt of the application, the Board
shall submit it to the Commission for a report. Prior to reporting to the Board, the Commission shall hold
at least one public hearing thereon after giving at least fifteen days' notice thereof by one publication in a
newspaper of general circulation in the county seat and by posting of the area included in the proposed
change, and
WHEREAS, Article 1.12 allows subdivisions to be abandoned and reverted to acreage upon a
petition to the Board initiated by the property owners, and
WHEREAS, the Board has historically received a report from the Planning and Zoning Commission
for petitions for abandonment and reversion to acreage, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors will remain responsible for approving or denying
amendments of the zoning ordinance or changes of zoning district boundaries and abandonments and
reversions to acreage, and
WHEREAS, this resolution will be effective on February 1, 1998, and will terminate on December
31, 1998, and
VOtEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission will follow all procedures set forth in A.R.S 11-
802, et seq., and Article 1.12 of the Mohave County Subdivision Regulations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that all applications for changes of zoning district
boundaries, amendments of the zoning ordinance, or petitions for abandonment and reversions to acreage
be submitted directly to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a report.
