HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-044 MOHAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLUTION 98-044 WHEREAS, the Federal Govenunent, by the adoption of the Clean Water Act has required states to plan and implement procedures for water quality management programs; and WHEREAS, the State of Arizona, through the Department of Environmental Quality, has adopted the Arizona Continuous Planning Process for Water Quality Management; and, WHEREAS, the Continuous Planning Process provides for the designation of certain jurisdictions as Designated Plmming Agencies, which are defined as an established local, regional, state or federal agency or another entity with adequate resources, authority and desire to assume responsibility for Water Quality Management planning activities in a particular area; and, WHEREAS, Mohave County is an established local agency with adequate resources, authority and desire to assume responsibility for Water Quality Management planning activities for the area within Mohave County; and WHEREAS, the designation as a Designated Planning Agency would enable Mohave County to better coordinate infrastructure planning and financing with the County's Land Use Plan and provide an enhanced level of service to it's citizens; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mnhave County Board of Supervisors hereby supports the designation of Mohave County as the Designated Planning Agency for Water Quality Management as provided for under the Continuous Planning Procedure and authorizes the County Manager to take the necessary steps to ensure that Mohave County is so designated. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Mohave County Board of supervisors this 20th day of January, 1998. MOHAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Carol S. Anderson, Chairman
