WHEREAS, at their special meeting on March 23, 1998, the Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on this item, and WHEREAS, on September 18, 1995, the Board of Supervisors adopted BOS Resolution No. 95-386 which amended Mohave County Zoning Regulations to allow secondary residences in residential zones, and WHEREAS, BOS Resolution No. 95-386 included Section 27.R, which limited the size of a secondary residence to no more than 50% of the primary residence, and WHEREAS, the purpose of the size limit is to ensure that the secondary unit is subordinate to the primary unit and any adverse impacts to neighboring properties or neighborhood character is limited, and WHEREAS, at their meeting on October 8, 1997, the Planning and Zoning Commission instructed the Planning and Zoning Department to develop an amendment to Section 27.R of the Mohave County Zoning Regulations that allowed secondary residences larger than 50% of the primary residence to better acconumodate the needs of county residents, and WHEREAS, the site plan requirements included in Section 27.R do not provide the needed information, and require information that is difficult for the applicant to provide and is insignificant to the departments' evaluation process, and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission held public hearings on this amendment on November 12, 1997 and January 14, 1998, and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommends adoption of this amendment, and WHEREAS, this amendment was advertised in the Standard, a newspaper of general circulation, published in Kingman, Arizona, on March 7, 1998 and posted on March 6, 1998. F'¢~GE 2 OF' (:, RESOLUTION NO. 98-78 Page 2 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mohave County Board of Supervisors, at their special meeting on March 23, 1998, adopts BOS Resolution No. 98-78 together with Ordinance No. 98-04.
