HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-393 RESOLUTION NO. 98-393 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met this 19 day of October, 1998, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is aware that to help alleviate flood concems in the area known as Mohave Wash, the wash is being realigned, constructed, and designated as the Mohave Wash Flood Control Channel, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors recognizes that to improve the safety of children and adults walking, tiding bicycles, skating or riding horses to schools, for recreation, or for other purposes, the construction of a ten foot wide paved pedestrian/bicycle trail and a ten foot wide dirt equestrian/mountain bike trail should be constructed along the easements of the Mohave Wash Flood Control Channel, AND WHEREAS, The Board of Supervisors also recognizes that this project would help reduce traffic congestion in the area by providing an alternative to the use of private automobiles., and WHEREAS, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors has determined that it would be in the best interest and safety of the citizens of Mohave County to apply for a State Transportation Enhancement Fund grant for the construction of such trails and will commit 5.7% of the total cost of the project to be paid by the Mohave County Flood Control District, and WHEREAS, The State Depaxtrnent of Transportation requires a resolution of support, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors authorizes James R. Zaborsky, Chairman, Mohave County Board of Supervisors, to sign the application and any amendments and/or modifications on behalf of Mohave County. TOB PASSED.
