RESOLUTION NO. 98-291
A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A ZONING USE PERMIT ON PARCEL V-P-A, IN THE
KINGMAN AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK, IN SECTION 27, TOWNSHIP 22 NORTH, RANGE
16 WEST, FOR A 1,000-GALLON PROPANE TANK IN AN A-D (AIRPORT-DEVELOPMENT)
ZONE, IN THE KINGMAN AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on August 10,
1998, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether a Zoning Use Permit should be granted for the
above-described property to John W. Hoke, Kingman Airport Authority, Kingman, Arizona, and
WHEREAS, the property is located in the Kingman Airport Industrial park northeast of Kingman
and east of State Highway 66 (Old US Highway 66). The site is accessed from State Highway 66 via
southeast on Mohave Airport Drive to Industrial Boulevard, then southwest on Industrial Boulevard to the
site, located southeast of Industrial Boulevard and southwest of Santa Fe Drive. The property is vacant and
relatively flat, sloping slightly to the southeast. The surrounding land uses consist of a variety of
commemial and industrial uses and the airport runway complex to the northeast. The property to the south
and southeast is vacant. There are no significant drainage patterns, and
WHEREAS, the applicant requests this Zoning Use Permit for an outside aboveground propane fuel
storage tank, approximately 1,000 gallons. Parcel V-P-A is a 40-acre portion of the 76.65 acre Parcel V-P.
The Mohave County General Plan designates this area as an Urban Development Area, and
WHEREAS, a review of FEMA FIRM Panel #040058-2170B indicates the parcel described to be
in Zone C, not in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area, and
WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item:
a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations.
b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan.
c. The site is adequate for the action intended and the use is consistent with the surrounding
land uses and terrain.
d. The neighboring area contains other like land uses similar to the above-proposed action.
e. The site has legal access.
f. There are no significant environmental features affecting the site.
WHEREAS, at the public heating before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on
July 8, 1998, the Commission recommended APPROVAL for a Zoning Use Permit subject to the following:

1. This Zoning Use Permit is for an outside aboveground propane fuel storage tank,
approximately 1,000 gallons, and activities related thereto.
2. The applicant shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Mohave County Zoning
Regulations. Section 27.P (Site Plan Requirements) must be completed and approved prior
to approval of permits and before establishing the use.
3. The appropriate zoning, building, enviromnental, and floodplain permits will be obtained
prior to construction.
4. If construction or use has not commenced within two years of Board approval of the Zoning
Use Permit or if the use has been discontinued for six mouths, then approval shall terminate
at that date.
5. This Zoning Use Permit is subject to revocation upon 60 days notification by the Board of
Supervisors if, in the opinion of the Commission and Board, the continued use of the
property would be contrary to the public health, safety, and welfare.
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general
circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, July 25, 1998, and posted on July 24, 1998, as required
by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting
on Monday, August 10, 1998, APPROVED this Zoning Use Permit as recommended by the Mohave County
Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
