A RESOLUTION AGREEING TO PARTNER WITH THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU IN THE
CENSUS 2000 ACTIVITIES.
WHEREAS, the .1990 Census substantially under counted the population in the United States and
in Mohave County causing Mohave County to object to the count, and
WItEREAS, to ensure an accurate count in the 2000 census, the U.S. Census Bureau is seeking to
partner with local governments, and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Census Bureau is asking local governments to participate in Partnership
Activities, including data collection, recruiting and promotional areas; specifically, the U.S. Census Bureau
is asking local govermnents to participate in establishing a Complete Count Committee and the Local
Update Census Address, and
WHEREAS, participating in the U.S. Census is in Mohave County's best interest and the U.S.
Census Bureau has asked the County for Technical/Geography and Partnership contacts.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mohave County Board of Supervisors supports
the U.S. Census 2000 Activities including, but not limited to, the Complete Count Committee and the Local
Update Census Address programs and appoints the following contacts:
Partnership -- Christine Ballard, Director of Planning and Zoning
Technical/Geography -- K.C. Easley, Planning Manager
