A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH AN ABANDONMENT OF A 20-FOOT PUBLIC UTILITY
EASEMENT BETWEEN LOTS 5 AND 12, BLOCK G, GOLDEN SAGE RANCHOS, UNIT 78, IN
SECTION 19, TOWNSHIP 22 NORTH, RANGE 19 WEST, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, this evaluation is to determine whether approval should be granted to abandon the
above-described public utility easement as requested by James and Iris Scheibeler of Golden Valley,
Arizona, and
WHEREAS, this property is located north of State Highway 68 between Chinle and McElmo
Drives. The site is accessed from State Highway 68 via north on Egar Road approximately three (3) miles
to Chinle Drive, then two and three-quarter (2H) miles west on Chinle Drive to Bellemont Road. The site
is three-fourths (3/4) mile north of Chinle Drive, on the west side of Bellemont Road. The terrain is sloping.
The surrounding land uses consist of vacant parcels and one single-family residence. There are no
significant drainage patterns. The site is not readily accessible with a conventional two-wheel drive vetficle,
and
WHEREAS, the Mohave County Department of Public Works does not object to the abandonment
of the public utility easement. The easement abandomnent has been approved by Citizens Utilities
Company, and
WHEREAS, a review of FEMA FIRM Panel #040058-2125C indicates the parcel described to be
in Zone C, not in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area, and
WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item:
a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations.
b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan.
c. The site is adequate for the action intended.
d. The site has legal access.
e. There are no significant environmental features affecting the site.
WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on
August 12, 1998, the Commission recommended APPROVAL for the Abandonment subject to the
following:
1. Written concurrence will be submitted from all affected utility companies.

WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general
circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, August 22, 1998, and August 29, 1998, and posted
August 21, 1998, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting
on Tuesday, September 8, 1998, APPROVED this Abandonment as recommended by the Mohave County
Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
