WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave Comity Board of Supervisors held on March 8, 1999, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether approval should be granted to abandon the above-described roadway as requested by Ted Levandowski, Meadview, Arizona, and WHEREAS, the site is approximately four miles south of Meadview and two miles east of Pierce Ferry Road. Access to the site is from Pierce Ferry Road via east by northeast on Sandview Drive to Parkview Drive, then east on Parkview Drive to Sandy Point Drive. From Sandy Point Drive proceed north to Bighorn Drive, then east on Bighorn Drive to its 90 ° intersection with Quail Run Lane and Quail Run Cove. The 84-foot roadway extends eastward from the intersection of Quail Run Lane approximately one- quarter mile to the public lands (Bureau of Land Management) in Section 30, Township 30 North, Range 16 West, and VOtEREAS, the site is vacant, as are the surrounding properties, ~vith government lands to the east and north. The site has moderate to steep slopes with a ravine traversing north to south along the eastern third of the four lots. The abandonment will increase the buildable area of the site, and WHEREAS, the Mohave County Department of Public Works recommends approval of the abandonment of this portion of Bighorn Drive, provided it is replaced with a 30-foot Ingress/Egress easement, and WHEREAS, a review of FEMA FIRM Panel #040058-1300 indicates the parcel described to be in Zone C, not in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area, and WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item: a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations. b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan. c. The site is adequate for the action intended. d. The site has legal access. e. Bighorn Drive crosses a ravine which traverses the site in a north to south direction. RESOLUTION NO. 99-87 Page 2 WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Plamring and Zoning Conm~ission on February 10, 1999, the Commission recommended APPROVAL for the Abandonment subject to the following: 1. A 30-foot Ingress/Egress easement, recorded by separate instrument and prior to abandonment, will replace the existing 84-foot right-of-way along the same alignment. WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, February 17, 1999, and February 24, 1999, and posted February, 19, 1999, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on Monday, March 8, 1999, APPROVED this Abandonment as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
