HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-096 RESOLUTION No. 99- 96 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County met in Special Session this 8th day of March 1999, and WHEREAS, the Arizona communities outside of the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas largely exist to provide basic state services via county government, to support the state's economy via agricultural and resource industries, and to support the state's economy and quality of life via toudsm services and utilize the state highway system and county highway system to deliver these services, and WHEREAS, the communities generally experience higher sales tax rates, greater sales leakage outside their jurisdictional boundaries, lower per capita income, and lower assessed valuation than their metropolitan neighbors, and WHEREAS, the communities in the balance of the state are experiencing transportation needs on and off the state highway system far in excess of their ability to resolve them locally. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mohave County Board of Supervisors, hereby requests that the Arizona Department of Transportation FY2000-2004 Five Year Construction Program be adopted by the Arizona Transportation Board to reflect the following: An increase in local government funding to areas outside of the Madcopa and Pima County Associations of Governments, from $5.3 million in FY1999, to $12 million in FY2000 and increased each year to $15 million in FY2004. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of March 1999 MOHAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Board
