HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-263 INDEXED OFF!:CI¢~L RECORDS OF MOHAUE ,IO(-',N ME: (:AL[., ~IOHAYE COUNIY 07/14/1999 -4:l~P PAGE PIOHAME COUNTY BOARD OF' ~EC:O~'.D]NG FEE -.~]:) RESOLUTION NO. 99-263 A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE ELIMINATION OF A ROAD NAME IN STOCKTON HILL RANCHES, UNIT 8, ALONG THE EAST SECTION LINE OF SECTION 36, TOWNSHIP 23 NORTH, RANGE 17 WEST, AND ALONG THE WEST SECTION LINE OF SECTION 31, TOWNSHIP 23 NORTH, RANGE 16 WEST, THE NAME BEING JOEL STREET, WHICH FOLLOWS THE ALIGNMENT OF CHERUM ROAD, IN THE KINGMAN AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA. WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on July 9, 1999, a public hearing was conducted to determine whether approval should be granted for the elimination ora road name in the described area, as requested by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Department, Kingman, Arizona, and WHEREAS, this road is located east of Stockton Hill Road, heading north off Calle Alamo. The site is accessed via Stockton Hill Road, east on Cactus Wren Road to Cherum Road, then north one mhd three-quarter miles to the intersection of Cherum Road and Calle Alan~o. Joel Street follows the alignment of Stockton Hill Road for one mile from Calle Alamo to Calle Sonoita. Cherum Road is the section line road between Stockton Hill Ranches, Unit 8, and Sunward Ho! Ranches, a resubdivision of Esmeralda Acres. When Sunward Ho! Ranches was recorded on March 1, 1960, the name of Cherum Road was established. When Stockton Hill Ranches, Unit 8, was recorded on April 18, 1979, a one-mile portion of this alignment was designated as "Joel Street." It has been determined that only one name should be retained for this section of roadway and Cherum Road, being the first and primary name in this area, was chosen to be the official name, and WHEREAS, this action is being initiated by the Mohave County Addressing Coordinator to avoid any possible addressing anomalies for 911 purposes. It appears there have not been any addresses issued using the road name of "Joel Street," and WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item: a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations. b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan. c. The roadway is legally accessible from another road right-of-way. d. This action complies with the Mohave County 911 addressing regulations for road naming. RESOLUTION NO. 99-263 Page 2 WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning & Zoning Commission on June 9, 1999, the Cormnission recommended APPROVAL of the elimination of JOEL STREET as the name of the roadway as shown on Exhibit "A.' WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, June 23, 1999, and posted on June 24, 1999, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on Friday, July 9, 1999, APPROVED the elimination of the roadway name of JOEL STREET as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
