SETTING FORTII A ZONING USE PERMIT ON A PORTION OF THE NW'A S½ SE¼ OF
SECTION 22, LYING NORTHEASTERLY OF US HIGHWAY 93, IN TOWNSHIP 24 NORTH,
RANGE 19 WEST, FOR A NO-KILL ANIMAL StlELTER, CLINIC, THRIFT STORE, TEACHING
AREA AND PETTING ZOO IN AN A-R/SA (AGRICULTUIL4,L-RESIDENTIAL/FIVE ACRE
MINIMUM LOT SIZE) ZONE, IN THE MOHAVE COUNTY GENERAL AREA, MOHAVE
COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WItEREAS, at thc regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on August 9,
1999. a public hearing was conducted lo determine whether an Amendment to BOS Resolution No. 97-321,
setting lbrd~ a Zoning Use Permit, should bc granted for the above-described property as requested by Diana
Moll of thc Pet Protection Organization of Kingman, Arizona, and
WHEREAS, the language to be added has been bolded and double-underlined. Language to be
deleted has been 3truck, and
WHEREAS, this property is located on the east side of US Highway 93, approximately four and
one-quarter (4'A) miles north of Chloride Road, and the site is accessed directly from US Highway 93. The
property has a mobile home on it and tine terrain is gently rolling hills, generally sloping slightly to the
southwest. The surrounding lmad uses consist of vacant land. There are no significant drainage patterns,
and
WH IrA*,EAS,the applicants request this Amendment to BOS Resolution No. 97-321, approving
a Zoning Use Permit to allow fi~r a no-kill animal shelter, clinic, thrift store, teaching area and petting
zoo, to correct the legal description for the property. When The Pet Protection Organization of
Kingman applied for a Zoning Use Permit on this donated five-acre portion of the 152-acre parcel on
the east side of US Highway 93, thc legal description was in error on the application. This error was
discovered upon review of the required Parcel Plat by the Mohave County' Planning and Zoning
Department. The onl'¢ change is to change the NW'A to S½ in the legal description, and
WHEItEAS, the Mohavc County General Plan designates this area as a Rural Development Area,
and
WHEREAS, a review of FEMA FIRM Panel #040058-1975B indicates the parcel described to be
in Zone C. not in the FEMA Special Flood Itazard Area, and

Wl lEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item:
a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations.
b. Thc proposed action aod the effect complies ~vith the Mohave County General Plan.
c. The sile is adequate l;,)r the action intended and the use is consistent with the surrounding
land uses and terraiu.
d. 'fhe site has legal access.
e. There are no significant environmental l'eatures affecting the site.
WIIEREAS, at the public hearing befbre the Mohave Couuty Planning and Zmfing Co~mnission on
July 14, 1999, the Commission recommended APPROVAL of the proposed Amendment to BOS Resolution
No. 97-321 setting lbrth a Zoning Use Permit subject to the following:
1. The legal description is changed to read "....a Zoning Use Permit of a portion of the S½ SE¼
of Section 22, lyiug northeasterly of US Highway 93, in Township 24 North, Range 19
West,...."
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general
circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, July 21, 1999, and posted on July 23, 1999, as required
by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations.
NOW TI IEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting
on Mooday. August 9, 1999, APPIc, OVt~D this Ameudment to BOS Resolution No. 97-321 setting forth a
Zoning Use Permit as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined
herein.
