A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A 60-FOOT ROAD INGRESS/EGRESS AND PUBLIC
UTILITY EASEMENT NAMING IN SUNWARD HO! RANCHES, RESUBDIVISION OF
ESMERALDA ACRES, IN SECTION 31, TOWNSHIP 23 NORTH, RANGE 16 WEST, THE ROAD
INGRESS/EGRESS EASEMENT NAME BEING AVENIDA CHOLUTECA, IN THE KINGMAN
AREA, MOItAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at thc regular arceting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on August 9,
1999. a public hearing was cunductcd to determine whether approval should be granted for a Roadway
Ingress/F, gress and Public Utility Easement Naming in the described area, as requested by Mary Hernandez,
Kingman, Arizona, and
WHEI~AS, the roadway ingress/egress and public utility easement to be named is 60 feet in width.
The roadway easement is located in Sunward Ho! Ranches, resubdivision of Esmeralda Acres,
approximately t'our miles north of the City of Kingman and one mad one-half miles east of Stockton Hill
Road. Tbc casement is accessed t'rom Stockton Hill Road, east on Cactus Wren Road for one mile to
Chcrum P, oad, then north on Cherum Road one and three-quarter miles to Calle Alamo, then east on Calle
Alamo l'or approximately oue-halfmile to tl~e site. This roadway easement runs north off of Calle Alamo
1bt one-hall:mile to Calle Bequita. Ii:this name is approved, it will be used for the remainder of this same
alignmcm li'om Calle Beqaita to Calle Charcas, which is an additional one and one-half miles, and
WHEREAS, the name of"Washboard Road" was unofficially given to this easement approximately
five years ago by the Department, at the request of Christine Warren, an adjoining property owner.
How-ever, "Washboard Road" was never processed for approval by the Board of Supervisors. The applicant,
upon 15 nding that this name was not o~ticial, processed an application to approve the name of"Avenida
Choluteca" in co~iunction with an established Spanish road name theme in the area. "Choluteca' is the
name o1' a city in Mexico. There have been five responses in favor of and four objecting to the proposed

WHEREAS, this road namiag application has been reviewed by the Mohave County Rural
Addressing Coordinator, and
Wll EREAS. the ~'ollowing described Findings of Fact are lbr the above-captioned item:
a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations.
b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan.
c. The roadway easemcut is legally accessible from another road right-of-way.
ct. All property owners ac[joining the roadway easement were notified by first class mail.

c. The easement name has been checked tbr compliance with the Mohave County 911
addressing regulations for road naming.
WHEREAS, at the public hearing betbre the Mohave County Planning & Zoning Commission on
July 14, 1999, the Commission recommended APPROVAL of AVENIDA CHOLUTECA as the name of
the roadway and public utility easement as shown on Exhibit "A."
WIIEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general
circulatiou iu Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, July 21, 1999, and posted on July 23, 1999, as required
by Arizon~ Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations.
NOW TH EREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting
on Monday, August 9, 1999, APPROVED AVENIDA CHOLUTECA as the roadway and public utility
easement name as recommended by thc Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined
herein.
