A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MESQUITE, NEVADA AND MOHAVE COUNTY,
ARIZONA APPOINTING AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS AND PROVIDE
RECOMMENDATIONS WITH REGARD TO PROVISION OF
SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OF MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA
WttEREAS, the unincorporated areas of Beaver Dam, Littlefield and Scenic located in Mohave County,
Arizona neighbor the City of Mesquite, Nevada; and
WHEREAS, residents of those areas from time to time use various services are provided by the City
of Mesquite; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mesquite has expressed concern that the costs related to providing these
services are not fillIy reimbursed by Mohave County; and
WHEREAS, officials of the City of Mesquite and Mohave County have expressed the desire to seek
resolution to these concerns; and
WHEREAS, the formation of an advisory committee may assist in the resolution of these concerns;
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mesquite and the Board
of Supervisors of Mohave County that an advisory committee be formed to discuss and provide
recommendations with regard to the services the City of Mesquite is providing to Mohave County.
FURTHER, IT IS RESOLVED that the committee be made up of:
six citizen representatives; three living in Mohave County (selected by Mohave County), and
three citizens living in Mesquite (selected by the City of Mesquite); and one elected
representative of each entity. The City Manager and the County Manager will serve as
officios to the committee. Said committee shall report its findings and recommendations no
later than October 1, 1999.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Mesquite, Nevada on the
10th day of August, 1999, and by the Board of County Supervisors of Mohave County, Arizona on the 9~ day
of August, 1999.
