HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-353 RESOLUTION NO. 99-353 A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH A ROAD NAMING AND RENAMING IN SECTIONS 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, AND 28, TOWNSHIP 16~ NORTH, RANGE 18 WEST; AND SECTIONS 19, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, AND 30, TOWNSHIP 16~ NORTH, RANGE 17 WEST, THE PROPOSED ROAD NAME BEING SANTA FE RANCH ROAD, IN THE YUCCA PORTION OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY GENERAL AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA. WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on September 7, 1999, a public heating was conducted to determine whether approval should be granted for a Road Naming and Renaming in the described area, as requested by Michael Sawhill of Legend Land, L.L.C., Phoenix, Arizona, and WHEREAS, the road proposed to be named is located approximately four miles south of Alamo Road. It is accessed from the Gem Acres Interchange at Interstate 40. It then heads east for approximately eight miles to Alamo Road. There is a one-mile section of this alignment that is currently named "Mackenzie Road" along the north section line of Section 25, Township 16½ North, Range 18 West. If this road name is approved, this portion will assume the new name. The applicant has notified all adjoining property owners of this request. The applicant is currently in negotiation with Arizona Department of Transportation to change the signage at Interstate 40 from "Gem Acres Interchange" to "Santa F¢ Ranch Road." As of July 28, 1999, ADOT has informed the Department that they would not pursue this request further until the road name has been formally approved, and WHEREAS, this application has been reviewed by the Mohave County Addressing Coordinator. There have been two objections to this request. One objection, from James Bingaman, states that he would prefer the road name remain unchanged. The only portion of this alignment that is currently named is ,'Mackenzie Road," as noted above. There have been four responses in favor of the proposed road name, and WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact are for the above-captioned item: a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations. b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan. c. The roadway is legally accessible from another road fight-of-way. d. All adjoining property owners have been notified of this request by first class mail. e. The roadway name has been checked for compliance with the Mohave County 911 addressing regulations for road naming. RESOLUTION NO. 99-353 Page 2 WHEREAS, at the public heating before the Mohave County Planning & Zoning Commission on August 11, 1999, the Commission reconunended APPROVAL of SANTA FE RANCH ROAD as the nmne of the roadway, as shown on Exhibit "A." WHEREAS, the notice of heating was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general circulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, August 18, 1999, and posted on August 20, 1999, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 7, 1999, APPROVED SANTA FE RANCH ROAD as the roadway name as recommended by the Mohave County Planning and Z..oning Commissio.,n and outlined herein. ~ ~ARD OF SUPERVISORS - ~: Buster D.
