A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR A REZONE OF THE
THISTLE PATENTED MINING CLAIM IN THE SAN FRANCISCO MINING DISTRICT,
EXCEPT THE VCESTERLY 375 FEET, IN A PORTION OF SECTION 8, TOWNSHIP 19 NORTH,
RANGE 20 WEST, FROM A-R/36A (AGRICULTURAL-RESIDENTIAL/THIRTY-SIX ACRE
MINIMUM LOT SIZE) ZONE TO A-R/5A (AGRICULTURAL-RESIDENTIAL/FIVE ACRE
MINIMUM LOT SIZE) ZONE, IN THE OATMAN TOWNSITE PORTION OF MOHAVE
COUNTY GENERAL AREA, MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors held on October
4, 1999, a public hearing was conducted to detemfine whether an Extension of Time for a Rezone should
be granted for the above-described property as requested by James H. and Cynthia L. Lang of Oatman,
Arizona, and
WHEREAS, this property is located north of Oatman Townsite. The site is accessed from Oatman
Road via northwesterly on Silver Creek Road to Times Gulch Road, then southwesterly on Times Gulch
Road approximately one-third (V3) of a mile to the north boundary of the property. The property is vacant,
and the terrain is rolling hills. The surrounding land uses consist of vacant parcels and widely scattered
single-family residences. There are no significant drainage patterns. The Mohave County General Plan
designates this area as a Rural Development Area, and
WHEREAS, tlfis rezone was conditionally approved by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors
on June 1, 1998 via BOS Resolution No. 98-211, and
WHEREAS, this Extension of Time will allow the applicant time to complete the conditions as
required by BOS Resolution No. 98-211, and
WHEREAS, the property owner has not accomplished any of the conditions of approval as required
by BOS Resolution No. 98-211, and
WHEREAS, this will be the first Extension of Time for this property, and
WHEREAS, a review of FEMA FIRM Panel #040058-2475B indicates the parcel described to be
in Zone D, not in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area. Additional comment from Mohave County
Floodplain: FIRM Panel #040058-2475B is not published. The property was found on Flood Hazard Base
Map 94A; and no flood hazards were located on the lot, and

WHEREAS, the following described Findings of Fact axe for the above-captioned item:
a. All notices have been advertised and posted according to regulations.
b. The proposed action and effect complies with the Mohave County General Plan.
c. The site is adequate for the action intended and the use is consistent with the surrounding
land uses and terrain.
d. The neighboring area contains other like land uses similar to the above-proposed action.
e. The site has legal access.
f. There are no significant environmental features affecting the site.
g. This request complies with the Extension of Time Policy.
WHEREAS, at the public hearing before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on
September 8, 1999, the Commission recommended APPROVAL for an Extension of Time for a Rezone
subject to the following:
1. Compliance with the conditions of BOS Resolution No. 98-211.
2. This Extension of Time will be in effect until June 1, 2000.
WHEREAS, the notice of hearing was published in The Standard, a newspaper of general
cimulation in Kingman, Mohave County, Arizona, September 15, 1999, and posted on September 17, 1999,
as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and the Mohave County Zoning Regulations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, at their regular meeting
on Monday, October 4, 1999, APPROVED this Extension of Time for a Rezone as recommended by the
Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission and outlined herein.
