BACKUP MA TERIAL: Uns-E ("UniSource")
is in the process of constructing the
Black Mountain Generating Station peaking plant to serve the needs of Mohave County
residents. UniSource controls two wells within the 1-40 Industrial Area with estimated
capacities of I 75 gpm and 260 gpm.
UniSource is wishing to enter into a mutually
beneficial agreement with Mohave County to 1) connect its wells to the County's 1-40
Water System at no cost to the County, 2) allow the County to have the excess capacity
from the two wells estimated to be 175 gpm, 3) fairly compensate the County for use of
County 1-40 water infrastructure, and 4) have the opportunity to partner with the County
for future expansions of the County's 1-40 Water System.
Recommended Motion: The Mohave County Board of Supervisors move to agree in
concept to allow UniSource to connect to the 1-40 Water System and authorize staff to
work with UniSource to develop a mutually beneficial agreement to be brought before
the Board for their consideration.
