Pursuant to adjournment of February 15, 1923, the Board of Supervisors me-t
this day at ten o'clock, A. M. Present: .GEO.B.AYERS, Chairman, A. R. MEYER and W. B.
STEPHENS, Members; and JOHN R. HEMPHILL, Clerk. Absent: ROSS H. BLAKELY, County
Attorney. _
The signere on bond of Zadok Sheffield were released as surety bond was given
this date.
The following bonds of County and precinct officers were approved by the
Chairman.
J. E. Black, Justice of the Peace
Fred Leonard
Zadok Sheffield
F. R. DuBois, Deputy Clerk of Court
Notarial bond of E. A. Carpenter was approved by the Chairman.
Depository bond of the Arizona Central Bank for Two Hundred Fifty Thousand
($250,000.00) dollars, covering deposit of County Funds was approved by the Chairman
and County Attorney.
The Treasurer was ordered to cancel penalties on the following:
Elza Brown 9107.64 Property gone and uncollectible
Santoe Nogalez 83 Party left county-
Charles C. Heaton 8.89 Due to controversy
Letter from Thos. Sevy was read relative to return of sheep tax and referred
to County Attorney.
Permit was granted H. E.Lang to lay water pipeline on the west Bide of
Cemetery Wash.
Appointments made by thb Sheriff of Jack Ferrell, t: B. Hatch and George
McWhorter as deputies were unanimously approved by the Board.
Letter read from Chas. H. Maxey, also petition that T. J. Bland be appointed
Deputy Sheriff at Signal Mine. This was laid over for future consideration.
The County Attorney presented the following resolution relative to parking
near fire hydrants, and the same was approved by the Board:
BE IT REMEMB ERED: That on this 5th day of Marc}a,
1923, at a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors
of Mohave County, State of Arizona, upon motion duly
made, seconded and carried, it is hereby ordained;
THAT WHEREAS, the said Board of Supervisors has, at
considerable expense, caused to be installed and placed
at convenient points within the Town of Kingman in said
County of Mohave, State of Arizona, and the additions to
said Town of Kingman, consisting of Metcalf Addition,
Richards Addition, Kingman Terrace Addition and Pleasant
View Addition, sundry fire hydrants;
AND WHEREAS, under the provisions of Paragraph 5070
of the Revised Statutes of Arizona, tha,seid Board of
Supervisors has jurisdiction and control of the streaks
of all unincorporated towns within the County of Mohave,
and has the power to make and enforce all such local police,
sanitary and other regulations as are not in conflict with
general laws;
AND WHEREAS, the safety of said tOva - , said addi-
tions thereto require that provisions should be made for
immediate and convenient use by the Fire Department of
Kingman, of said hydrants to the end that the Baid Fire WOW
Department be not obstructed or interfered with in the
prompt and effieacioue performance of its duties in that
regard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that any and all per-
sona, firma and corporations, chauffeurs, or drivers of
vehicles of any and all kinds, are hereby strictly prohib-
ited from packing, hitching or in any other manner obstruct -
ing the streets in said Town of Kingman - or its above^.named
