HomeMy WebLinkAbout138 1149 Office of the Board of Supervisors December 4, 1950, (cont'd) Kingman, Arizona An Ordnance, requiring the registration of Communists and "Fellow Travelers ", was submitted to the Board of Supervisors by Swaskegame Post #14 American Legion, with a recommendation that it be adopted by the Board of Supervisors. The Ordnance was read in full and A. J. Mullen moved its adoption. ORDNANCE N 138 Every person over the age of twenty -one residing in Mohave County, Arizona, on January 1, 1951, eltber per- manently or temporarily, who then is or within a period of three (3) years preceding said date has been a member of the Communist Party or the Communist political organization, or any organization declared by the Attorney Gen- eral of the United States to be subversive, or is affiliated with or supports any organization that believes in or teaches the overthrow of the Government of the United States, either by force or any illegal or unconstitution- al method, is hereby required within ten days from and after said date to register with the Sheriff of Mohave County, Arizona, at his office th���Court House in Kingman. All other persons of like/p ideal affiliation or belief who thereafter reside within Mohave County for a period of three consecutive days are also required to so register within ten days after their arrival in the County. The Sheriff is hereby authorized and directed, at the public expense, to provide appropriate forms for such I registration, which shall include the name and address of the registrant; age; place of birth; occupation; political or organizational affiliation or belief, as above set forth, and such other pertinent data as the Sherii may require. The violation of this ordinance is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not to exceed $100.00 or imprisonment in the County Jail for a period of not to exceed thirty days, or both; violations shall be prosecuted in the Justice Court of the Precinct in which the accused is found. Upon Roll Call the following voted aye: A. J. Mullen; Ise Stephens; W. H. Ridenour._ Thereupon the Chairman declared the ordnance adopted. Correcting entry: According to the Recorder's records, Book 69 of Deeds, page,60, the following described property was sold February 6th, 1950, to John F. Miller: Lots 81, 96, 97, 112 of Tract 8, Gateway Acres, Section 13, Twp 25N, Range 20 West, formerly assessed to Dion H. Romandy; and Lots 3, 4, 13, 14 in Tract 9 Gateway Acres Section 17 Twp 25 North, Range 19 West, formerly assessed to the Dorcas Investment Co. Total sale price of all lots was $20.00.
